Welcome to the Company of Jesus website! We thank God for your visit because we know it is no accident you have sought us out. Most likely you have come to us because you are asking the Lord about a religious vocation - a stirring you have felt for months or years, a desire to commit yourself to a life of prayer, discipline and simplicity, resulting in a life of holiness and service to others in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Fr. Lawrence Lovasik reminds us that, "The union of our soul with God is the end for which we were created. Religious life is designed precisely to foster the principle of union of the soul with God and to furnish the means to overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of that union… The religious life is, therefore, one of the exquisite fruits of the redemption. It is one of the surest ways of imitating Jesus Christ and one of the most authentic and richest forms of Christian spirituality." ("The Sister for Today", pgs. 39, 40)
Our goal truly is to imitate Christ and to attain union with God as we go about our daily work and family lives. This active worship of God reflects the beauty of God's holiness and also works to produce a beautiful holiness within us. Just as the Psalmist reminds us:
"Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his Name; worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness." (Ps. 29:2, RSV)
